The leading better-breakfast franchise eyes Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville as key development markets
Famous Toastery, a made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch franchise based in North Carolina, is looking to expand throughout Tennessee. The restaurant chain is targeting Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville as key markets to expand its brand, each offering a ripe demographic match and influx of visiting tourists.
“Tennessee has been seeing an increase in people moving there for a variety of reasons, including warmer weather and a quieter vibe for family life. The growing market provides a great opportunity for small business owners,” said Famous Toastery CEO Robert Maynard. “We’re seeing a lot more individuals and business concepts moving from the east coast to Tennessee, Georgia and other southern states, and those are areas where our brand stands apart from the competition in its values and business operations.”
The Famous Toastery brand has seen tremendous growth for its locations in the Carolinas recently and is set to add 10 more stores within North Carolina in the coming year. The better-breakfast franchise has also expanded its reach in uptapped markets with the 2017 openings in Virgina and Pennsylvania, and the upcoming brand launches in Colorado and Georgia.
“The areas we’ve chosen to expand our business in, which is one of the reasons we’re hungry to develop in cities across Tennessee, is that we are thriving in business friendly states that support small business owners and give them a chance to find success in their local communities,” Maynard said.
Maynard believes the lifestyle and demographics of residents in Chattanooga, Knoxville and Nashville align quite well with those of the Famous Toastery brand, and he is looking for experienced entrepreneurs with strong restaurant backgrounds to take part in the company’s development.
“Because we are based in North Carolina, we think the best match for a potential candidate to open Famous Toastery locations in Tennesee would be to partner with someone who has extensive professional restaurant experience and a go-getter attitude,” Maynard said. “One of the bonuses to opening a Famous Toastery is that franchisees are able to enjoy a lifestyle that most restaurants can’t match. Franchisees can finish their days by 3 p.m. and spend time with their families.”
Due to the untapped opportunity across the state, Mayned believes that potential investors that have worked with multiple concepts and are interested in expanding their portfolios would be the perfect fit to spearhead development state-wide. He’s hoping to have 10 locations open across The Volunteer State in the next few years, adding more than 250 jobs.
