Famous Toastery Continues Rapid Southeastern Expansion with New Columbia, South Carolina Restaurant
First time franchisees Mike and Kim Kenney are already planning to open their second location later this year.

Mike and Kim Kenney knew of Famous Toastery long before they decided to become franchisees. Not only does the brand have a strong reputation across the Southeast as being the top breakfast and brunch spot, their friend Dean Kessel is one of Famous Toastery’s many local owners. So when the Kenneys were looking to open a business of their own, they followed his advice and looked into the brand’s franchise opportunity.

“Everything that we heard about Famous Toastery from Dean was overwhelmingly positive. And seeing as though he agreed to open nine more restaurants, we knew he was seeing success. It was clear to see why as soon as we talked to the Famous Toastery team,” Kim said. “We would never open a restaurant on our own. But everyone at Famous Toastery is so supportive—they’ve created a system that’s simple to follow and they’re there to support you every step of the way. From the moment we decided to open our own location, we’ve felt like a part of their family.”

The Kenneys’ Famous Toastery restaurant is officially open for business in Columbia, South Carolina. Its commitment to serving fresh, made-to-order meals and exceptional customer service has already made it a mainstay in the community—consumers are making it a part of their weekly routines. That ability to succeed with the brand right off the bat is why the Kenneys signed on to open another Famous Toastery location later this year.

“Our plan is to continue growing with the brand for as long as we can. We’re looking forward to opening up another restaurant in Columbia this fall, and we’re also scouting potential locations for a third location in the Lexington area,” said Kim. “It’s easy to grow with Famous Toastery because there’s nothing else like it out there. Demand for a better alternative to traditional diners and breakfast restaurants is incredibly high—consumers want to know that they’re eating fresh ingredients that were prepared that day. That’s why Famous Toastery stands out. You can taste the quality in our recipes.”

That level of quality continues to be a distinguishing factor as Famous Toastery expands across the Southeastern U.S. Backed by its unparalleled menu and one of a kind “every server is your server” mentality, the brand plans to saturate the target development area throughout 2017.

The franchisees who sign on to be an integral part of that expansion are offered a unique business opportunity. Because Famous Toastery specializes in breakfast, brunch and lunch, owners can close their restaurants at 3 p.m. and spend the rest of their days with their families. Franchisees can also rely on a team of corporate employees and other local owners who have already been through the grand opening process for support.

“Our system is designed to set our franchisees up for success. We encourage our owners to communicate with one another and reach out when they have questions—that’s one of the advantages of being a part of a growing franchise system,” said Robert Maynard, founder and CEO of Famous Toastery. “We’re excited to welcome even more owners to our network in the months and years to come. Multi-unit owners like Dean and the Kenneys are fueling our development in the Carolinas, and that’s a trend we expect to continue going forward.”
