The Florida Times-Union: New Famous Toastery Franchisees Went From Fans to Owners
After falling in love with the concept, Dawn and Keith Martin decided to invest in a Famous Toastery of their own.

Dawn and Keith Martin have become the new owners of Famous Toastery in Jacksonville Beach.

Dawn and Keith were looking to open a franchise and after eating at the Famous Toastery, Dawn decided it was the one.

“I loved the idea that everything was prepared fresh, it has a large gluten-free menu and it closes at 3 p.m. so you still can have a life in the evening,” she said. “I loved the overall concept.”

Before relocating to Charlotte, the Martins lived in St. Johns County for 15 years and soon realized they missed their friends and family in the Jacksonville area.

Last month, the husband and wife business duo took over the Famous Toastery at 311 Third St. N. in Jacksonville Beach.

“We let the local stores pick a few of their own specials to offer since certain things work in certain places,” Maynard said. “We have a great business model, so it comes down to choosing the right people to get behind your brand.”

Maynard added, “[Dawn and Keith] are passionate about the business and love what they’re doing.”
